Because this is very likely to change in the near future I'm not filling this out yet. I'm going to try lots of different species and see what I can get to thrive. Once I get to that point, there'll be alot more info here.
Notes-
After feeling like I really accomplished setting up and maintaining a reef tank I felt I wanted to go back and try something I kind of skipped. I always wanted to do a planted fresh tank, but with my cichlid tank that was kind of impossible. With limited space in my tiny apartment I got a 20g High that I decided would be my planted tank. I put a canister filter on it so I could somewhat control the amount of surface agitation therefore keeping the co2 in the tank.
Right now it's just kind of a mishmash of random plants so I can find out what I can grow, and what I can't. I'm supplementing with flourish atm to help out so we'll see how it goes. My only conern is the lighting. I originally wanted to get a compact flourescent to get a bit more light, but my LFS owner got in a t-5 for a bit cheaper so I thought I'd give that a shot. After all if it doesn't quite do it I can always get a CF and then set the t-5 in front of it.
