Earlier in the week I snagged a picture of comet Holmes using my 8" newt. It's a striking object, clearly visible with the naked eye, in Perseus, not too far from Mirfak. Even in binoculars it shows impressive detail, and through a scope you can see what appears as an almost perfect circle of awesomeness. As visible in the photograph, there is a slight waning in brightness towards one edge, but other than that, a very evenly lit dirtball.
